Exercise and Blood Pressure Study

Researchers at the Department of Exercise Science within the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Toronto are
conducting a pilot study investigating blood pressure responses to handgrip exercise and forearm stretching.

Participants will be required to:

  • Attend 6 visits to the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport (100 Devonshire Place) at the University of Toronto within a time span of one month, each lasting approximately 30-45 minutes.
  • Complete a 4 hour fast, a 4 hour abstinence from caffeine and a 24 hour abstinence from consumption of any alcohol or strenuous exercise prior to each session.

We are looking for healthy post-menopausal women (at least 1 year) ages 45-65, free from chronic disease and non-smokers for the past six months.

All participants will be compensated for their time!
