Starting September 8, the Athletic Centre, Goldring Centre, Varsity Centre and Back Campus will re-open for limited services, in compliance with U of T's protocols and the public health guidelines in place due to COVID-19.
NOTE: Due to the limited number of available programs and the capacity restrictions in each facility, there will be no sale or renewal of memberships this fall. Instead, participants are asked to register for activities and pay a fixed price every time they wish to use the facility. U of T students can register for no addtional cost.
- Group fitness - explore online workouts or book in-person fitness classes held at the Athletic Centre and Back Campus Fields. Register
- Lane swimming - book a time to swim in the 50m pool at the Athletic Centre. Register
- Strength and Conditioning - book a time to work out independently at the Athletic Centre Field House. Register
- Online workouts. Register
Please note that for the fall 2020 term, the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport and Varsity Centre will operate on limited hours for student athlete training. This will ensure more space and time for the broader U of T community at our largest athletic and recreation facilities.
Entrances to buildings have been modified to control access according to City of Toronto public health.
The Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education operates a range of activity spaces for sport and recreation, academic and research programs, and programs for children and youth including:
- Goldring Centre
- Back Campus fields
- Varsity Centre and Arena
- Athletic Centre
- Front Campus playing fields
- Robert Street fields
U of T students, who pay mandatory athletic incidental fees, are a priority in our Sport & Rec facilities. The student body informs and governs our decision-making processes involving the provision of recreational and athletic programs and services within our facilities. All community members, including U of T affiliates, are welcome to take part in programming provided that they are aware that student priority programming may limit access to certain facility areas or hours
