The Back Campus fields are booked limited use for official U of T Sport and Rec programming throughout the week, generally Monday to Fridays from 11am to 7pm.
In alignment with COVID-19 public health guidelines, these fields are currently only available for official U of T Sport and Rec physical activity and sport programming for use by registered individuals as we slowly reopen our outdoor facilities. If you are not registered to take part in a scheduled program or open sports training, you will need to leave the field.
In order to ensure proper tracking and tracing as well as main safety during COVID, advance registration, pre-screening, sign-in, and observance of capacity limits are required for all participants who use the field. Please review signage to follow the current maximum number of people in each designated zone and COVID safety protocols regarding masks and physical distancing are in place. Read our latest update.

About the Back Campus Fields:
The Back Campus fields are available for use by individuals and groups for physical activity and sport. The fields are comprised of two synthetic turf fields and provide state-of-the art outdoor facilities on our downtown campus. The multi-purpose fields are Ontario’s first International Hockey Federation (FIH) certified pitches and together are believed to be the highest quality two-turf facility for field hockey currently in operation in Canada. The fields were used as a competition venue for the Toronto 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games.
When full operations are able to resume:
Recreational field hockey, soccer, Ultimate, lacrosse and other field sports can be played on the fields during non-programmed activity times. Reading, relaxing and picnicking are welcome on the natural grass and amongst the treed areas surrounding the turfed areas of the Back Campus fields. We look forward to welcoming everyone back onto our fields when we are able to do so.
