From the research and expertise of U of T to the gym training floor, IMPACT Training is a progressive workout program that meets you where you are and helps you advance from week to week. Whether your goals are related to performance for sport or performance for life, are you ready to make an IMPACT on your fitness?

IMPACT stands for Integrated Movement, Performance, Agility and Conditioning Team. Detailed programming and a personalized coaching experience, combined with the comradery of a team will have you training like a pro in no time.

  • Class options with an IMPACT Training Pass include all members and women-only

Total fee for Term Passes are adjusted at a daily pro-rated fee during the sessional period. 

The IMPACT Training Pass is available to purchase as an additional add-on to an active Sport & Rec membership. An active Sport & Rec membership or current U of T student access is required throughout the entire duration of the IMPACT Training Pass. 

For all cancellation requests, please email the Sport & Rec team with a reason for the cancellation.

PROGRAM UPDATE

IMPACT TRAINING UPDATES

  • We are adding NEW sessions to our current offerings. These sessions will run Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings and will have the same program as the Tuesday, Thursday evening sessions.
  • The sign-up window for sessions will be reduced to 7 days.
  • To ensure that our spaces are used effectively and that IMPACT members are able to get into their desired classes, we will be introducing a No-Show policy:

    • After your first No-Show, you will be notified via email and reminded to cancel any bookings you cannot attend in the future. 

    • After a second No-Show, you will be notified again via email and your upcoming bookings will be removed.

    • Future No-Shows will have the same follow up, where you will be notified via email and your upcoming bookings will be removed. 

    • If your sessions have been removed due to a No-Show, you can still re-book these sessions afterward if you still intend on joining those sessions.

Upcoming Schedule AdjustmentsWhat Happens in this Class

Each class will start with a friendly intro from the coach, leading into a dynamic warmup. 

In each session, you will perform 6-8 exercises using a variety of exercise equipment including barbells, squat racks, dumbbells, kettlebells, and more. You will build on your capacity to move well week by week. Coaches will be guiding you every step of the way. 

Every class will finish with a cool down and closing greeting. 

Each class is 60-minutes. To maximize the benefits of this program, it is recommended and encouraged to participate in 2-3 sessions per week. 

Equipment Needed and What to Wear

All equipment will be provided, including barbells, dowels, weights, and more! 

No special clothing is required. Wear something you can move comfortably in. Wear comfortable closed-toe and athletic shoes.

Registration and Cancellation Policy

IMPACT Training Pass (Membership): 

  • Members are required to purchase the IMPACT Training Pass for this program at an additional cost via the Recreation Portal.
  • Members can purchase the pass at any time during the sale period. 
  • Participants can request a partial refund for the pass at any time during the pass period. A pro-rated refund will be provided from the date of the email request, less a $15 administrative fee. To request a refund for an earlier period, valid medical documentation must be provided listing the date of illness/injury. No refunds, holds, or extensions are provided due to closures, schedule changes, or facility availability. Please email the Fitness & Performance team for these requests. 

Class Registration and Cancellation: 

  • Members can pre-register for a class spot 7-days before the class start time. Pre-register for your spot at one of the above links. 
  • Members can cancel a session (online and in-person) up to 30-minutes before the start of class time. To cancel online, visit the Recreation Portal click your name/profile, under Program Registrations, select the session you want to cancel.
