Snatch, Clean, Jerk!
Learn, re-learn, develop or fine-tune your Olympic weightlifting technique as you build strength and move barbells like a champion! We offer a multi-level program where coaches provide individual and tailored feedback to help you master your Olympic lifts at your level in our Learn to Lift program (register here).
Session Period: Monday, January 15 to Wednesday, March 13 (8-weeks - 2 times per week)
- No classes will take place during the Winter Reading Week on Monday, February 19 and Wednesday, February 21

Eligibility & Pricing:
Students: U of T students paying incidental fees for the current term can access this program for an additional fee.
Members: Anyone who has a current Sport & Rec membership can access this programming for an additional fee.

This 8-week program has you training twice a week with a seasoned coach and team, and will leave you feeling strong and confident in the gym. If you've always wanted to use barbells and want to feel like a star doing it, Olympic weightlifting with the Fitness & Performance team is for you!
This program is open to all members. No previous experience is necessary. All equipment is provided.
Program capacity: Maximum of 20 participants per session.

A registered instructional program focused on learning Olympic weightlifting exercises and techniques, while improving your overall strength levels. The goal of each program is for participants to master basic form and skills with confidence to build a solid foundation of knowledge and ability.
60-minute class.
Each class will start with a friendly intro from the coach, leading into a dynamic warmup.
Each class will focus on a new skill/technique, practicing and building on from the previous class. Class elements involve learning about the type of lifts, lifting techniques, hand/foot positioning, generating speed/power, how to load/deload weights, and more!
Every class will finish with a cool down and closing greeting.
All members - U of T students paying incidental fees for the current term; Active Sport & Rec members.
Can be adapted to be beginner friendly or more advanced.
Instructors are able to provide modifications for varying abilities.
All equipment will be provided, including barbells, dowels, weights, and more!
No special clothing is required. Wear something you can move comfortably in. Wear comfortable closed-toe and athletic shoes.
Indoor activity.

Members are required to register for this program at an additional cost via https://recreation.utoronto.ca/
Participants are able to register up until the start of the 2nd class.
Participants are able to request a class transfer up until the start of the 2nd class.
Participants are able to request a cancellation and refund up until the start of 2nd class. Participants will be refunded the full amount less a cancellation fee of 10% or $5 - whichever is greater - for each withdrawn registration. Please email fitness.performance@utoronto.ca for these requests.
