Schedule & Program Updates

To better serve our members we have created a schedule that matches what we offer for our other drop-in programs. You can now see the anticipated schedule below along with upcoming schedule adjustments. For the most up-to-date schedules please use the links below which show the next 48 hours of programming.

Athletic Centre - Indoor Track

During some scheduled hours, drop-in jogging has exclusive use of the Athletic Centre track.

During other scheduled hours, drop-in jogging may be shared with registered programming (indicated in the schedule below by "Lanes 1&2 only"). Drop-in participants will have access to lanes 1 and 2 (the inner-most lanes) around the track. This goes down to a single track on the north straight away.

Upcoming Schedule Adjustments

Please note: In the case of inclement weather, drop-in jogging indoors at the Athletic Centre may forfeit lanes 3-5 to other programming due to outdoor (Varisty Track) closures. Lanes 1 & 2 will remain open for drop-in use. 

  • Monday, September 2: No programming due to Labour Day facility closure. 
  • Monday, October 13: No programming due to Thanksgiving Holiday closure.

Eligibility

  • Students: Current students paying incidental fees can access this programming at no additional cost. 
  • Members: Anyone with an active Sport & Rec Membership can access this programming at no additional cost. Day passes are excluded for court bookings. 

Important Information

Equipment & What to Wear
  • Participants are asked to wear comfortable and appropriate athletic attire while joining in drop-in activities. Athletic shoes with non-marking soles are required in all drop-in activity areas.
  • Closed-toed, activity-appropriate footwear is required. Please make sure shoes are free of debris before entering the facility.
  • Socks, barefoot and back-less shoes will not be allowed at anytime.
  • A shirt, tank top or sports bra is required during all drop-in activities.
  • Jeans and dress pants are not permitted.
  • Sport & Rec staff has final say in determining appropriate clothing.
  • Acceptable track spikes:  6 mm pyramids / cones.

Rules & Etiquette

Athletic Centre - Indoor Track

  • Track lanes 1, 2 and 3 are for walking and jogging.
  • Track lanes 4 and 5 are for speed training.
  • For the safety of all, the use of personal music players with headphones/ear buds is not permitted while running on the track at peak times (Monday - Thursday 4 pm - 9 pm and Saturdays 9 am - 12 pm).
  • The track is busy with competitive athletes training at this time; runners are advised to move out of the way when they hear the word "track."
  • 5 laps = 1 km; 8 laps = 1 mile.
  • Please be aware that during Drop-in hours, no equipment is permitted to be set up on the track.
  • Please store personal belongings in the lockers in the change rooms. Personal belongings (bags, jackets, boots, etc.) are not permitted in the Field House.
