Sign-Up Required (Saturday to Thursday)
Fridays will operate as true drop-in with no court bookings. Come solo or with friends to play! Courts will be shared, and players should rotate in to keep games moving. This is a new format to make courts more easily accessible and more social.
From Saturday to Thursday, current U of T students and members may book pickleball court online at the recreation platform. Court bookings are only available online. Court bookings are limited to ONE per day. You may not book more than one court at the same time.
- All individuals must sign in for their court booking at the turnstiles. Please inform the staff working the desk you need to sign in for a court booking prior to scanning your card and then follow their instructions to ensure you are signed in. Failure to check in for a court booking will be considered a no-show.
- Please check in within 15 minutes of your reserved court time. After that, the court will be released for drop-in use.

Important Information
Who can participate?
- Students: Current students paying incidental fees can access this programming at no additional cost.
- Members: Anyone with an active Sport & Rec Membership can access this programming at no additional cost.
- Day pass users may participate with a member who has booked a court, or during designated true drop-in hours (Fridays), but cannot book courts themselves.
Equipment/ What To Wear
Participants are asked to wear comfortable and appropriate athletic attire while joining in drop-in activities. Athletic shoes with non-marking soles are required in all drop-in activity areas.
- Closed-toed, activity-appropriate footwear is required. Please make sure shoes are free of debris before entering the facility.
- Socks, barefoot and back-less shoes will not be allowed at any time.
- A shirt, tank top or sports bra is required during all drop-in activities.
- Jeans and dress pants are not permitted.
- Sport & Rec staff has final say in determining appropriate clothing.
We recommend participants bring a lock to lock away their belongings in the changerooms. Bags, jackets, additional shoes, and other personal items not required for the activity are not permitted in our physical activity spaces.
Equipment Rentals
- Paddle and balls are available to rent free of charge. A valid TCard or membership is required.
- Individuals are limited to two racquet rentals at once and must be rented just before your booking, used during your booking in our facility, and returned immediately afterward.
- All rented or borrowed equipment must remain within the facility from which it was rented or borrowed and may not be taken off the premises.
- Lost or damaged equipment will be subject to a replacement fee, charged to the individual who rented it ($45).
Rules/ Etiquette
- Games are limited to a maximum of 4 people per court (2 on each side). A single individual is responsible for booking a court for their group, and must be playing during their booking. An maximum of five individuals may accompany them for their booking slot, with two players waiting on the benches to sub in.
- No playing between courts or on the sidelines.
- Players may only book one court at a time for a maximum of one booking per day.
- A single bag, for the purpose of carrying racquet and required sport equipment is allowed, and are to be kept along a wall or on benches to keep walkways clear and safe.
- Outdoor shoes, jackets, bags (non-racquet specific), or personal items not required for the activity are not allowed in the Upper Gym and should be locked away in the lockers in the changerooms.
- Players may not change clothing on the court surface.
- Players should only enter the gym shortly before their scheduled booking.
- Courts that are not claimed within 15 minutes of the start of the booking time are forfeited for drop-in use.
- Please remember to sign in for your court booking at the turnstiles. Sign in is available up to 30 minutes before your booking. Please inform the staff working the desk you need to sign in for a court booking prior to scanning your card, and then follow their instructions to ensure you are signed in.
