About the Back Campus Fields

The Back Campus fields are available for use by individuals and groups for physical activity and sport. The fields are comprised of two synthetic turf fields and provide state-of-the art outdoor facilities on our downtown campus. The multi-purpose fields are Ontario’s first International Hockey Federation (FIH) certified pitches and together are believed to be the highest quality two-turf facility for field hockey currently in operation in Canada. The fields were used as a competition venue for the Toronto 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games.

The Back Campus Fields are used for recreational workouts and activities, registered programs and instruction, child and youth programming, intramurals, and special events. The Back Campus Fields is home to the following University of Toronto Varsity Blues intercollegiate sports: Field Hockey.

Recreational field hockey, soccer, Ultimate, lacrosse and other field sports can be played on the fields during non-programmed activity times. Reading, relaxing and picnicking are welcome on the natural grass and amongst the treed areas surrounding the turfed areas of the Back Campus Fields.
