Access and Eligiblity
Is gym access included for students?
Full-time U of T students have access included via incidental fees from September to May. Simply present your TCard for entry. During the summer months, discounted memberships are available for purchase.
Where can I buy a membership?
Memberships can be purchased in person at the Athletic Centre (55 Harbord St.) or Goldring Centre (100 Devonshire Pl.). Community members may also join online via the Online Recreation Portal.
What are the gym's hours of operation?
All our facilities are open Monday to Sunday. Please visit our website for specific hours of operation for each facility. Also check out our holiday hours.
Can I bring a guest?
Yes, members can bring a guest for a fee of $21.75 + HST.
Are our buildings accessible?
Yes, all of our buildings have accessible entrances and elevators.
How do I request accommodations for your facilities?
Please take a few moments to fill out our Accommodation Request Form. The questions primarily ask about activities and facilities you are interested in.

Do we have parking?
You have several parking options near our facilities:
Athletic Centre
- Street: Metered parking is available around the building periphery.
- Underground: Located across the street at Graduate House (60 Harbord St.). Access this lot by traveling north on Spadina Ave. or east on Glen Morris Ave.
Goldring & Varsity Centres
- Street: Metered parking is available along Devonshire Pl.
- Garage: A Green P Municipal lot is located at the intersection of Bedford Rd. and Bloor St. W.

How do lockers work at Sport & Rec?
How do lockers work?
- Day Lockers: Available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. You must provide your own lock.
- Rental Lockers: Half-lockers are available for long-term rental at the front desk.
What if I forget my LOCK and TOWEL?
Locks are available for purchase ($11.50 + HST) and towels are available for purchase ($8.00 + HST). Please note that towel service has been discontinued.
Are there age restrictions?
Drop-in gym and pool sessions are generally 18+. Families may access the facilities during designated "Fun Swim" or "Family Skate" sessions with a Family Day Pass.
Bookings & Programs
Where can I find your drop-in program schedules?
Schedules for each program can be found by visiting the Sport & Recreation page. Please note any building closures and cancellation dates prior to your arrival.
How do I book a court?
Court bookings (Squash, Badminton, Tennis, Table Tennis) are exclusively online via the Online Recreation Portal. Reservations open exactly 48 hours (2 days) before the scheduled timeslot. Members are limited to one booking per day.
How do I join Intramurals?
Students should contact their specific College or Faculty Intramural Representative. Independent teams must register via IMLeagues and pay the required default bond through the recreation portal.
How can I register for Impact Training? Is it covered under my Sport & Rec membership?
IMPACT Training isn't part of your Sport & Rec membership. It is an added cost and can be purchased online.
What's booked in the fitness studios?
Members can view all schduled bookings in the AC Dance Studio and GC Fitness Studio. Times that are not reserved are available for member use.
Membership Cancellations & Refunds
Membership Cancellation and Refunds
To cancel your membership, please fill out our cancellation request form.
Within 10 days
Full refunds are given upon cancellation of memberships within 10 days of the purchase date. Please note that this is a one-time exception and refunds cannot be issued repeatedly for the same membership or on an ongoing basis.
After 10 days
A pro-rated refund will be provided from the date of the email request minus a $25 administrative fee. To request a refund for an earlier period, valid medical documentations must be provided listing the date of illness/injury.
Please be advised that restricted or limited hours of operation for some parts of the facility may occur during exam periods, maintenance periods, and the holiday closures. While we endeavour to provide timely notifications, some unexpected service interruptions may occur. Refunds, membership extensions or holds are not issued due to these interruptions or closures unless stated otherwise.

I have a refund on my account. What are the next steps?
To receive your refund, please visit one of our Sport and Rec facilities (Athletic Centre, Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport, or Varsity Centre) or call our Customer Experience team at 416-978-3436. You have the option of having the funds returned to the same payment card or allowing the funds to remain on your account for future in-person purchases.
Please note for all debit refunds (including Visa Debit), a visit to one of our facilities is required.
How do I pay off an invoice on my account?
- Log in to your account at http://recreation.utoronto.ca
- Near the top right of the page, click on your username/email address and select Profile.
- Select invoices from the left side menu and the pay button will appear.
