Sport & Recreation System Upgrades

Getting active at U of T just got a whole lot simpler.

On July 31, 2018, we upgraded the system used to manage sport and recreational activities and access the athletic facilities at U of T, along with Hart House, U of T Scarborough and U of T Mississauga.

Read on for more information about what’s changed and what you can do to switch seamlessly to the new system.

We'll be updating this page frequently with  important dates, instructions and answers to frequently asked questions as more information becomes available, so keep checking back!

New Recreation Website

As of July 31, 2018, sport and recreation activities for all three campuses will be in one place at a new mobile-friendly and fully accessible website:
http://recreation.utoronto.ca

Members will be able to book courts, register for classes, renew memberships and more through a streamlined online process.

U of T students, staff and faculty will be able to log in to the new recreation website using their UTORid.

All community members, including alumni members, will need to create a new account for the new website.
Accounts created in the previous system will no longer work.

If you’re a parent with children participating in one of our programs, there is an option to add your children to your account in the new system, making future registrations and account management for the family much more efficient.

Membership Cards

As of July 31, 2018, U of T staff and faculty members will need a TCard to access the athletic facilities.
Not only does your TCard give you access to the facilities, it can be used for a number of discounts and special offers at the university and other organizations!

If you don't have a TCard, head over to the TCard Office at 214 College Street or visit the Reader Registration desk on the first floor of Robarts Library.
You’ll need a piece of valid Canadian government-issued photo I.D to get your TCard.

Although we'll be accepting your existing membership card for a limited time, we will be phasing these cards out for staff and faculty, so we encourage you to get a TCard as soon as you can.

Students will continue to use their TCards to access the facilities.

Community members, including alumni members, will continue to use their existing membership cards.

Frequently Asked Questions

If your membership card isn’t scanning properly, please visit the Customer and Membership Services office at the Athletic Centre. Your card will be replaced with an updated Sport & Rec card, free of charge.

While we will continue to accept membership cards from staff and faculty for a period of time, we will be phasing out their use. We encourage you to switch to a TCard proactively to minimize disruption to your membership.

If you have forgotten your card, please present yourself to the turnstile staff with identification. Members can access the facilities with alternative identification no more than three times. After the third time, members will need to purchase a one-day Sport & Rec pass. If your Sport & Rec card or TCard was lost or stolen, you will need to purchase a new one.
