From competing at the Olympic games as a teenage track star to his ongoing work as a renowned human rights activist, Canadian sports legend Bruce Kidd tells his remarkable life story in A Runner's Journey. To launch Kidd's memoir, University of Toronto Press and Varsity Centre are co-hosting an outdoor event on Thursday, September 23 between 3- 5 p.m., featuring local luminaries such as three-time Olympic Gold Medalist Marnie McBean and Scott Russell, host of the Olympic Games, CBC Television. Gretchen Kerr, Dean, U of T's Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education (KPE), will host the event. Admission is FREE with Registration. Copies of A Runner's Journey will be available for purchase at the event from University of Toronto Bookstore.

Varsity Stadium, 299 Bloor St West (at Devonshire – Beside the Royal Conservatory of Music) Remarks at 3pm, followed by a book signing.

Masks required. Other COVID-19 protocols, such as free hand santizer and a socially distant floor plan, will be in place.
