How do we make sport and physical activity inclusive? How can ableism be addressed in sport? Join the Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education for an in-person panel discussion on accessibility in sport. Our panelists will discuss the importance of making sport accessible and what strategies we can take to create a more inclusive sporting environment.

Panelists

  • Jonathan Wood - Chief Engagement Officer - Toronto Accessible Sports Council (TASC)
    A passionate Disability and Inclusion Advocate with an innate talent for cultivating productive working relationships with multiple stakeholders to achieve common goals & objectives. In his role with TASC, Jonathan improves the lives of those living with disabilities by connecting them with accessible sports and recreation opportunities. He strongly believes that access to quality sport and recreation programming is fundamental to the health and well-being of children and youth.

  • Dragana Javorina - Director of Inclusive Recreation - Inclusive Communities Canada
    Dragana received two master's degrees from the University of Toronto: Occupational Therapy (2022) and Exercise Science (2020). Her master's thesis in exercise science focused on physical activity measurement in children and youth with mobility impairment-related disabilities. Dragana is currently a board member and director of Inclusive Recreation for the non-profit Inclusive Communities Canada, where she is an advocate for accessible play for all abilities. As an Occupational Therapist, her interests include wearable tech, mHealth, disability, and brain injury and stroke rehab.
