VARSITY ATHLETES NEEDED FOR RESEARCH STUDY

Study Purpose

Varsity athletes are needed to participate in a research study assessing the feasibility of utilizing novel wearable technology to optimize the training intensity for individualized, cardiorespiratory, field-based real-world training.

Who can participate?

Current Varsity athletes at the University of Toronto who are actively training with their team and are not currently recovering from any injuries that inhibit the ability to exercise.

What’s involved?

The study involves five, one-hour sessions over a period of 2 weeks.

During week 1, you will complete three 1-hour laboratory testing sessions (VO2 max test, Wingate test, Critical Power test) on a cycle ergometer OR treadmill (depending on your preference) to identify various training thresholds.

During week 2, you will complete your typical in-field endurance exercise training sessions (2 sessions of approximately 40–60 minutes) with your Varsity team. During all sessions, you will be equipped with advanced, non-invasive, wearable technology.

Compensation will be provided.
