She’s4Sports is a Canadian sports organization that launched in 2016 to address the lack of representation of women and diverse groups in sports media. Through digital content and events, the organization has featured WNBA star Kia Nurse, produced over ten live events and three digital series. This includes one of Toronto’s first all-women hockey panels, entitled Hockey Is Her, and securing Dr. Jennifer Welter, the first woman to coach in the NFL, to participate on her first Canadian panel - She Can Coach.

She’s4Sports’ work addressing Anti-Black racism and diversity in sport was also featured in The New York Times.

In the lead up to the first WNBA pre-season game in Toronto, She’s4Sports will host Growing The Game - an interactive panel event. The initiative will bring women, girls and 2SLGBTQ+ basketball fans together to hear from women leaders in the basketball community. The event will also explore opportunities and growth in women's basketball and the challenges ahead facing the industry.

*We will also be giving out prizes including tickets to the May 13 WNBA pre season game in Toronto. We are excited to host the event at the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport at the University of Toronto. Light refreshments will be served.

Panellists include:

  • Bridget Carleton, Olympian and professional basketball player: Team Canada and Minnesota Lynx (WNBA)
  • Nakissa Koomalsingh (Keesa K.), Founder , HOOPQUEENS
  • Tamara Tatham, Head Basketball Coach, University of Toronto Varsity Blues
  • Abby Albino, Head of Business & Brand Strategy, Canada Basketball
  • Tammy Sutton-Brown, Associate, Basketball & Franchise Operations, Raptors 905
