Alternative Physical Activity Strategies for Breast and Prostate Cancer Survivors

We are looking for female postmenopausal breast cancer survivors and male prostate cancer survivors who are not currently physically active to participate in an entirely remote study conducted by the University of Toronto.

PA Cancer 1

Study Goals

We are interested in studying the effects of different forms of physical activity on blood sugar control among breast and prostate cancer survivors. Recent research is starting to show that cancer survivors may be at an increased risk of chronic illnesses such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. This is due, in part, to negative side-effects of cancer treatments, such as impaired ability to use insulin and control blood sugar. The purpose of this study is to produce new evidence specific to breast and prostate cancer survivors on the effects of various forms of physical activity to help inform care in cancer survivorship.
