We are recruiting participants for a study investigating how brain and body processes in dance may help to improve movement for people with and without Parkinson’s disease.
The study involves performing a set of movement and thinking tasks while receiving non-invasive brain stimulation (transcranial direct current stimulation; tDCS). This stimulation involves a low-level electric current via two electrodes on the scalp to temporarily alter activity in an area of the brain.
Safety screening will be conducted to assess suitability for non-invasive brain stimulation.
Who can participate?
- Adults aged 60 years and over
- No history of neurological or psychiatric conditions
- Normal or corrected-to-normal vision
- No metal inside the head
The study requires participation in an online assessment (1 hour) followed by 3 in-person visits approximately a week apart (2-3 hours each) at the Goldring Centre.
Participants will receive compensation for their time. If you are interested in taking part or have any questions, please contact Jude at j.bek@utoronto.ca
This study has been reviewed and received UofT ethics clearance (Protocol #45145).
