KPE stands in solidarity with Asian community after killing of Asian women in Atlanta

20/03/2021

The Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education condemns the murders in Atlanta, Georgia on March 16, including 6 women of Asian descent. The killings have been linked in the media to racism and hatred.

Racism and violence against any group in our society cannot be tolerated and we must continue to combat it at every opportunity.

Our community of students, faculty and staff contribute enormously to the diversity of experiences and perspectives that we value as a Faculty and academic institution -- and we stand with our Asian community in mourning the senseless and tragic loss of these lives.

-Ira Jacobs, Dean, Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education
