As the Fall term comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the past few months. They have been eventful, inspiring, challenging and rewarding, to say the least. The term started with U of T’s “biggest-ever back to school season”, with all of our students, staff and faculty returning to campus for in-person research, teaching and learning for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
The energy that has filled our spaces since September has been undeniable. It has been such a pleasure to witness your curiosity, drive and creativity in action, both inside and outside of the classroom. In your lectures, seminars and labs, your research and co-curricular activities-- your hard work has not gone unnoticed. It’s also been wonderful to witness the support and care you extend to each other. Thank you for all you do to build and strengthen our community.
I’m sure you’re all looking forward to a well-deserved holiday break. I hope it will be a memorable one, with plenty of opportunities for movement, connections, joy and rest.
Happy holidays and I look forward to seeing you on campus next term.
