Come see what you can do

28/09/2016

If you found yourself walking by the Back Campus Fields recently, you may have noticed new banners going up.

They are part of the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education’s continued efforts to engage University of Toronto students in physical activity and ensure that they understand the Faculty’s sport and rec programs are open to all U of T students, regardless of their physical ability, skills or history of participating in sports.

The Faculty’s mission is to develop, advance and disseminate knowledge about physical activity, health and their interactions through education, research, leadership and the provision of opportunity. We are supported in this mission by science that shows those who participate in co-curricular physical activity and sports programs are likely to reap huge benefits for their academic experience, their health, their social networks, and their leadership skills.

The Faculty is constantly exploring ways to better realize this vision within our student community, and continues to make strides through existing programs and new initiatives provided in an inclusive, welcoming and safe environment.

Whether you’re interested in getting involved in intramural sports, learning more about the Tri-Campus Development League (the D-league), joining a club, dropping in on a class, registering for a full course, or simply cheering on the Blues, there is something for everyone.

Over the past years, we’ve welcomed record numbers of students through our doors for Varsity Blues games and fitness and health opportunities. In the coming years, we will continue to work to expand the breadth of opportunities we offer and inspire all U of T students to take advantage of the Faculty’s diverse physical activity programs and facilities, from the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport to the Back Campus Fields.

So, why not pick up a copy of U of T's Activity Guide and come see what you can do!
