Body Shaming in Sport Survey

We are looking for athletes over the age of 13 to participate in a study conducted by the University of Toronto to learn about experiences of body shaming and the messages athletes receive about their bodies in sport.

What’s this about?

We want to hear about experiences with body shaming in sports such as:

  • Comments people might have made about your weight, height, or appearance
  • Being weighed or having your body or diet closely watched

We also want to know how this might have made you feel about yourself, your body, or your sport. Our goal is to understand these experiences and work to make sport safer and more inclusive for everyone.

Your privacy matters.

Everything you share in the study will stay private. No one—your family, teammates, or coaches—will know you participated, and we won’t share your name or any details about you.

What’s in it for you?

You will receive a $5 Amazon gift card as a thank-you for your time! You will still receive this if you don’t answer all the questions (e.g., if some make you uncomfortable and are skipped).

Ready to help?

CLICK HERE to take the survey. It should take about 20 minutes, and you can stop anytime if you feel uncomfortable. There will also be mental health resources at the end if you need them.
