Dr. Mark Leung completed his MD at the University of Western Ontario in 2006, Family Medicine Residency at the University of Toronto in 2008, and Enhanced Skills Residency in Sport & Exercise Medicine at the University of Toronto, and received his Dip. in Sports Medicine in 2009. Mark completed a Master's Degree in Family and Community Medicine in 2010, with particular interest in teaching and mentoring learners in Sports and Musculoskeletal Medicine.
He has been the Program Director for the University of Toronto's Sport and Exercise Medicine Enhanced Skills Residency since 2014, and is Chair of that Residency Committee. He is a faculty member for the MSK Courses of Canada. He is active with the Canadian Academy of Sport & Exercise Medicine (CASEM) as a member of the Program Director's Committee, Team Physician Committee, and Research Committee. A team physician for the Varsity Blues, Mark has been team physician for Canada Men's Basketball since 2011, and was the Lead Physician for Basketball at the Pan AM Games in 2015. He previously worked as physician at the Whistler Sliding Centre in the 2010 Winter Olympics. He has also been chief medical officer for Skate Canada International. He has acted as a Medical Consultant with the Toronto Football Club (Toronto FC), Canadian Football League (CFL), National Hockey League Referees Association. Mark is an avid recreational golf, basketball, and ultimate frisbee player.
