Dr. Ian Cohen has practiced primary care sport medicine for over 25 years. He focuses on communicating with and educating patients. He is the team physician for many of U of T's Varsity Blues, including men's ice hockey and football. He past experience includes working with as team physician with the Toronto Argonauts (1990's), and he was the medical director for the Spirit of Canada sailing campaigns in three around-the-world sailing races (2008-2012). During the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games, he acted as the assistant venue medical director at the Whistler Sliding Centre.
Ian considers the care of recreational and professional athletes to be of great value and seeks to use physical fitness as a form of preventative medicine. He also has a specific interest in the role of exercise in the prevention and treatment of cognitive impairment.
