Professor Gretchen Kerr, dean of the Faculty, welcomes Toronto's new WNBA team, the Toronto Tempo, to the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. The team will be using Goldring while their dedicated practice facility is under development.
I am pleased to share with KPE an important update that reflects the energy, ambition and sense of community that define U of T and our Faculty.
Starting in April, Toronto’s new WNBA team, the Toronto Tempo, will be using the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport as their training home until early fall, while their dedicated practice facility is under development.
We are pleased to welcome the Tempo to the U of T campus. Their presence reflects the Faculty’s strong commitment to advancing visibility, opportunity and investment in sport for women and girls, and is a meaningful connection to the broader community, to sport in our city, and to the continued growth of women’s sport nationally.
We look forward to welcoming the team and to the opportunities this brings for our university community!
Gretchen Kerr, dean and professor
