Nutrition and Body Composition Packages (BOD POD)

Start a healthy eating and exercise program the right way. Balancing your physical activity levels and nutritional intake requires a team approach: nutritionist, personal trainer and you. This package includes two 45-minute nutrition counselling sessions and four 55-minute personal training sessions.

BOD POD Analysis
The BOD POD Gold Standard Body Composition Tracking System is an air displacement plethysmograph which uses whole-body densitometry to determine body composition (fat and fat-free mass) in adults. A full test requires only about 5 minutes and provides highly accurate, safe, comfortable, and fast test results. Book a BOD POD analysis today – it is a great tool to measure your progress!

Fitness Testing + BOD POD session
In this session a certified personal trainer will provide clients with a fitness test to determine baseline fitness by evaluating resting and exercise heart rate, resting and exercise heart rate, resting and exercise blood pressure, muscular strength and endurance, aerobic capacity and body composition through the BOD POD.

Nutrition + BOD POD session
In this session our certified nutritionist will provide clients with individual advice based on the client's goals. The nutritionist will review the client’s three-day food log to better understand the client's eating patterns and food choices. The nutritionist will be provide recommendations based on the client's needs and goals. Body composition will be measured through the BOD POD.
Preparation for the BOD POD Analysis
The BOD POD is the easiest, most non-invasive and accurate method of tracking body composition; however, in order to get the most accurate and consistent results, the following protocol should be followed before a BOD POD test:

Do not eat or drink at least 2 hours prior to the test; absolutely no food and no liquids (even water).

Do not exercise for at least 2 hours prior to the test; for best results, you need to be calm, cool, and breathing normally.

Do not wear any jewelry or accessories during the test. If you have jewelry that cannot be removed, you can leave it on for the test, though be sure to wear the same jewelry for follow-up tests.

Wear form-fitting clothing.

  • Men should wear spandex, lycra, or compression shorts without padding or underwear.
  • Women should wear either spandex, lycra, or compression shorts with a sports bra, or a swimsuit.
  • A swim cap will be provided at the test.

    What to Expect
    The BOD POD testing session takes about 10-20 minutes. The actual time that an individual is enclosed in the POD for the volume determination is about five minutes (two to three 50-second measurement periods).

    *A guest fee has been included in the non-member fee to allow access to the facilities for the day of your training session.

    All prices are subject to HST. Special rates for students with disabilities who are registered with Accessibility Services.


    Packages of less than 6 personal training sessions must be used within 3 months of the purchase date. Packages of 12 & 24 sessions must be used within one year of purchase date. Any unused sessions after these expiry dates will be cancelled, and partial refunds will not be provided.

    If you already know which package you would like to select, you can complete your registration by submitting your completed personal training profile forms with your payment at the Athletic Centre’s main office or at the service desk at the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.  A personal trainer or nutritionist will contact you within 48 hours to arrange your session(s).
