This workshop series provides a space for interacting with your peers in an inclusive and engaging environment while obtaining the academic skills to excel. By attending this workshop series (minimum three out of five sessions), you will receive a notation on your Co-Curricular Record (CCR).

Available workshops

  • Reading and Notetaking: January 30, 2–3 p.m.
    Are you stressed about completing  your course readings? Academic reading and notetaking are core requirements of university learning, but they can often feel overwhelming. In this online workshop, learn how to read efficiently and take notes effectively to maximize learning and retention during the academic reading process. 
  • Building a Study Routine: February 13, 2–3 p.m.
    You have a study schedule, but how do you make the most of your study time? In this online workshop, learn some of the best practices for efficient and effective studying for better results in less time.  
  • Avoiding Procrastination: March 6, 2–3 p.m.
    Do you avoid studying? Do you have trouble completing assignments on time? In this online workshop, learn the reasons for procrastination, identify your personal procrastination habits, and learn practical strategies to reduce procrastination and develop more effective study habits. 
  • Exam Prep: March 20, 2–3 p.m.
    Stressed about exams? You're not alone! The good news? Good exam preparation can reduce anxiety and increase retention and recall. In this online workshop, learn the principles of effective exam preparation, good exam writing practices, and leave with a plan to tackle your exams.
