International students are a valuable presence in the Graduate Department of Kinesiology and are expected to meet the same requirements for admission as domestic students. Applicants admitted as full-time students will be funded for two years in the master’s program and four years in the doctoral program.
Applicants to our department are required to have:
- The equivalent of a University of Toronto degree
- Achieved the equivalent of the minimum grade point average needed to be considered for admission to our degree programs (see Admission Requirements for each program)
Use the International Credentials Equivalencies tool to see which international credentials are required for admission. This tool will help you determine whether or not you have the minimum qualifications needed in order to apply to our graduate programs.
English Language Requirements
As English is the primary language of instruction and communication at the University of Toronto, applicants must demonstrate an adequate level of proficiency in English, regardless of their citizenship status or country of origin. It is important that these students follow SGS policies on ELP testing requirements and take one of the required tests for admission to a graduate program.
Applicants from universities outside Canada where English is not the primary language of instruction must provide results of an English language proficiency examination as part of their application. Tests must have been taken within the last 24 months at the time of submission of their application.
Applicants must follow the School of Graduate Studies' policies on English Language Requirements. For more information on the policy and eligible testing, please check the English Language Proficiency Testing.
